A 50-year-old male driver suffered serious injuries after a single-vehicle collision in Pickering Monday afternoon.
On October 4 at about 3:54 pm, members of West Division were called to York-Durham Line and 16th Avenue in Pickering for a serious single motor-vehicle collision.
At this time a red Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was travelling northbound on York-Durham line approaching the intersection at 16th Avenue when the vehicle left the roadway from the east shoulder, coming to rest in a creek-bed, police said.
Motorists in the area provided immediate assistance to the driver and lone occupant of this vehicle until emergency services arrived. The 50-year-old male driver was transported to a Toronto-area trauma hospital originally with life-threatening injuries. At hospital, the male’s condition was downgraded to serious but non-life threatening injuries, and is in stable condition.
Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
