Support offered to Dragonfly Avenue shooting impacted

On Tuesday October 5th, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm, Victim Services of Durham Region will be at Foxtrail Green Park in Pickering to provide emotional support, information, and community referrals as a result of the incident on Dragonfly Avenue, where one person was shot dead.

On September 27 at about 11:30 pm, members of West Division were called to a townhouse complex after several shots were fired. A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Two occupants were located at the scene and taken into custody. The victim and the two occupants reside at the residence, police said.

The announcement said police will provide some information, and then there will be opportunity to receive emotional support, information, and community referrals from Crisis Intervention counsellors with Victim Services.

Police clarified that private details of the ongoing investigation will not be discussed.
