Unlucky four sped off twice from police in stolen vehicle, but…

Durham Police said three males and one female are facing charges after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle in Port Perry.

On Thursday, June 6 at about 1:25 am, members of North Division were conducting proactive patrol when their cruiser’s Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) system notified them of a stolen vehicle. Officers strategically followed the stolen vehicle; however, it fled the area at a high rate of speed, said a police statement.

Police continued to patrol the area and located the stolen vehicle nearby. The vehicle again fled the area at a high rate of speed, striking a curb causing the vehicle to become immobile. Four suspects fled the vehicle on foot but were taken into custody a short distance away.

Two suspects from Scugog and two from Toronto were charged. Three were released on an undertaking, while one was held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Cst. McGregor of North Division at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2060.

Editor’s Note: Durham Post does not name or identify the accused as:
1. Of this time, they are suspect[s] and not convicted by a court, and
