Upcoming road restrictions in Ajax, Clarington, Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a road closure on Rossland Road, west of Harwood Avenue North in the Town of Ajax. Traffic will be diverted via a signed detour route.

  • When: August 31 to September 2.
  • Where: Rossland Road west of Harwood Avenue North in the Town of Ajax.
  • Why: To safely construct a new watermain on Harwood Avenue North in Ajax.

Note: The region said it realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are reminded to exercise additional caution for everyone’s safety.

Liberty Street in Bowmanville

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced northbound and southbound lane restrictions on Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14) in Bowmanville, in the Municipality of Clarington.

  • When: August 31 to September 4 (daytime only).
  • Where: Liberty Street, north of King Street East near Alexander Place and Liberty Place, in Bowmanville (Clarington).
  • Why: To safely install new sanitary sewer services.

Rudell Road in Newcastle

The Municipality of Clarington has announced that Rudell Road in Newcastle is closed from Hart Boulevard to Edward Street until October, for underground services works.

To access the entrance to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Elementary School use Rudell Road southbound going in and northbound going out only.

Simcoe Street North in Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions in the north and southbound lanes of Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in the City of Oshawa.

  • When: September 21 to October 30.
  • Where: Simcoe Street North, from 250 metres south of Selleck Lane to 350 metres south of Selleck Lane, in the City of Oshawa.
  • Why: To safely install water, sanitary and storm services to support a new development.
