Update: Man succumbs to head-on crash injuries

Durham Police has confirmed that one male was pronounced deceased following a two-vehicle collision on Friday evening in Pickering.

On  October 29 at about 11:25 pm, members of West Division were called to a serious two-vehicle collision that occurred on Pickering Parkway east of Brock Road.

At this time a silver Honda Civic was travelling eastbound on Pickering Parkway when it was struck head-on by a westbound white Audi SUV that had crossed the centre line. Weather/road conditions and speed are believed to be contributing factors to this collision, police said.

The injured occupants were transported to a local hospital with varying degrees of injuries, two victims from the Honda Civic were transported to Toronto trauma centres with life-threatening injuries.

The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit is conducting this investigation.

On the evening of Monday, November 1, 2021 the 74-year-old male driver of the silver Honda Civic succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at hospital.
