Suspicious Death Update: Elderly female found by grandchild

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) officers are investigating a suspicious death at a residence in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, November 2 at about 3:30 pm, members of Central East Division were called to a residence on Phillip Murray Avenue in Oshawa. A young child returned home to find his grandmother; a 67-year-old female deceased in the residence. Emergency Services and police arrived and the female was pronounced deceased, police said.

The coroner attended the scene and a post mortem will be scheduled. The death has been deemed suspicious at this time. The investigation continues.

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) late last night said they have found an elderly woman dead under suspicious circumstances.

The incident took place at Phillip Murray Avenue in Oshawa, said a police tweet.

This is the second case of ‘suspicious deaths‘ of women in Durham within weeks. Mid-October a mother and daughter went missing from Whitby. Remains of the daughter have been identified and her son has been arrested.
