Three stabbings in Oshawa and Whitby

A 21-year-old male was sent to hospital after being stabbed during an altercation in downtown Whitby over the weekend.

On Saturday, June 29, at about  2:30 am, members of Central West Division responded to the area of Brock Street and Colborne Street East for a stabbing. The victim was with a friend who became involved in a verbal altercation with three unknown males. The victim’s friend was punched in the face and he fled on foot. The victim was then chased and stabbed by one of the males. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The three suspects fled on foot.

There is limited suspect descriptions of the three male suspects and investigators are appealing to the public for their assistance in identifying them.

Stabbing  in Oshawa

A 16-year-old  was sent to hospital after being stabbed during a house party in Oshawa over the long weekend.

On Monday, July 1,  at 1 am, members of Central West Division responded to the area of Hillrise Street in Oshawa for a large fight outside a residence. Officers located a male teen with minor injuries after he was stabbed by an unknown suspect. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police searched the area with negative results.

The suspect is described as male, black, 5’8″ tall, wearing black clothing and was armed with a large knife.

Man stabbed after dispute in Oshawa

Investigators arrested a suspect after receiving information about a non-reported stabbing that occurred in Oshawa on June 12, 2019.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, investigators from Central East Division were given information of a serious stabbing that took place in an apartment on Nonquon Road in Oshawa on June 12, 2019.

The victim went to the suspect’s apartment and they became involved in a verbal altercation over a debt owed. When the victim was attempting to leave, he was stabbed in the back. The victim made his way to a friend’s house and was later driven to a local hospital. The victim was then airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma center where he received treatment for a serious, but non-life threatening injury. Police were not notified of the stabbing until the next week.

On June 26, 2019, Peter Scott-Rogers, age 28, of Nonquon Road was arrested and is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon.

He has been held for a bail hearing.
