The Circular Innovation Council has extended Waste Reduction Week in Canada beyond the third week of October into Circular Economy Month to educate and excite Canadians about the opportunities and benefits of the circular economy.
The third week of October continues as Waste Reduction Week (WRW), with daily themes related to specific waste streams and the waste reduction component of a circular economy, said the region.
The primary goal of the week is to celebrate environmental efforts and achievements while encouraging innovative new ideas and solutions.

- Monday, October 21 – Repair Monday
- Tuesday, October 22 – Textile Tuesday
- Wednesday, October 23 – E-Waste Wednesday
- Thursday, October 24 – Plastic Thursday
- Friday, October 25 – Food Waste Friday
- Saturday, October 26 – Sharing Economy Saturday
- Sunday, October 27 – Swap Sunday
The remainder of the month will focus on introducing the concept of circular economy, educating and empowering Canadians to support an economy that delivers on the most important values of Canadians: protecting the planet and prioritizing people, the region said.
