Whitby launches campaign for need to stay home

Who are you staying home for, Whitby? That’s the question the Town of Whitby is asking residents to answer through its new #StayHomeWhitby campaign.

Its purpose is to encourage residents to make a personal connection to who they are staying home for to protect from Covid-19, said a town announcement.

Earlier this week, the province released promising new Covid-19 modelling showing  efforts to contain the virus are working and it has likely reached its peak. However, health officials made it clear that now is not the time to stop physical distancing efforts. In fact, it’s more important than ever to remain vigilant and stay home, unless leaving the house for essential reasons, to continue to flatten the curve and save lives, said the statement.

“That’s why the town is encouraging residents and businesses to participate in it’s new #StayHomeWhitby campaign. Everyone has someone they are staying at home to keep safe right now, whether it’s grandparents, children or frontline workers,” it said.

How to get involved:
