Whitby pet owners can now purchase tags, order replacement tags, and even report lost pets online using the town’s new Docupet’s online registration system.
To use DocuPet:
- Set up your account at whitby.DocuPet.com
- Purchase or renew a pet licence
- Select a licence tag design and checkout
Why do I need to license my pet?
- It’s the law. All cats and dogs in the Town must obtain an official licence. The licence must be renewed every year.
- It identifies lost pets. Pet tags help Whitby Animal Services to identify lost pets and reunite them with their owners. Each pet license has a unique code on the back, which is linked to that pet’s secure online profile. Lose a pet? Navigate to your pet’s profile on DocuPet and submit a lost pet report.
- It helps animals in need. Being able to return lost pets sooner opens up shelter space for animals in shelters who truly need it.
