Woman missing overnight on Lake Simcoe found safe

A woman missing for most of the night on the ice on Lake Simcoe has been found safe, according to Durham Police.

She was found with with the help of an ice fishing company yesterday morning, said a tweet from the North Division of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS)

“A big shout out to Brad who operates a Brock ice fishing company,” said yesterday’s tweet. “He came out this morning to help search for a lady who had been lost on Lake Simcoe for most of the night.

“She was located just as our snowmobile team arrived and was not hurt. Teamwork at its best,” said the tweet.
