Woman who fled with infant located and charged

Toronto Police Service (TPS) yesterday thanked the public for their assistance in locating a woman and her infant, who had fled the scene of a collision last month.

TPS said on Wednesday, November 27  at 1:37 am, a woman was driving a stolen car and when police tried to stop her, she fled.

A short time later, she became involved in a single-vehicle collision at a construction site at Lawrence Avenue West and Caledonia Road. She then fled the scene on foot and, according to witnesses, had an infant with her.

The woman was identified as Colbie Harris, 27, of Toronto.

On Tuesday, December 10, she was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Fail to Stop for Police
2. Dangerous Driving
3. Fail to Remain
4. Possession of Stolen Property
5. Breach of Probation
