Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced that officers had found the body of a woman in Lake Ontario off Oshawa.
“A female was taken out of the cold waters of Lake Ontario by Birchcliffe Av in Oshawa with vital signs absent and taken to local hospital. More info to follow,” said a police tweet.
A little later the DRPS tweeted again saying that the “female has been pronounced dead at hospital. Investigation is ongoing. Call came in at 1:25 pm. Oshawa Fire and Durham Paramedic Services assisted with call.”
No further details were made available till late last night.
