Father seriously hurt after being stabbed by son

A 57-year-old Scugog male was found with serious stabbing injuries in a Pickering residence Monday after midnight.

On November 16 at about 12:55 am, members of West Division were called to a residence near Altona Road and Taunton Road in Pickering for a stabbing call. Officers located the homeowner with serious injuries. Officers rendered first aid until Durham Paramedics arrived. The male was rushed to a Toronto Trauma Center, police said.

The suspect, who is the victim’s son, fled the scene and was arrested yesterday afternoon in Bradford with the assistance of South Simcoe Police Service.

The 30-year-old male from Bradford is charged with: Attempt Murder; Aggravated Assault; Uttering Threats; Break and Enter; Mischief; Possess Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
