The Township of Scugog recently announced that construction was to proceed on the vacant lands located north of King Street, between Union Avenue and Perryview Drive (see map).
This is to prepare the area for the construction of Phase 1 of a new residential subdivision.
These applications have been approved to facilitate a residential subdivision off King Street in the south end of Port Perry, with 239 single detached and linked dwellings, 86 townhouses, a park blockand open space block. The subdivision has proposed road connections to King Street, Union Avenue, Robin Trail and Mead Drive.
Delpark Homes (the Developer) has received approval from the township to carry out grading and earthworks. Sewer and road construction is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2022. These works will be completed in accordance with an agreement executed with the Township of Scugog and the requirements of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and Kawartha Conservation Authority, said a township statement.
It recognized that the work will be disruptive, and apologized for any inconvenience caused by this construction. The development areas under construction will be fenced off and secured. Access to the development area is strictly prohibited at all times for safety. Construction access will be provided off King Street. Township staff and contracted inspectors will monitor the site throughout construction. A Fill Management Plan has been prepared to proactively mitigate potential impacts during the construction period, the statement said.
The applications were submitted in 2018, with a public open house held in May 2019 and a Virtual Public Meeting held on November 16, 2020. Township Council passed Zoning By-law 21-21 on May 31, 2021, approving the zoning for the subdivision and endorsing the draft plan of subdivision. The Region of Durham issued their notice of decision to grant draft approval to this subdivision on July 15, 2021.
Notice of Construction – # 17300 Island Road
Fourteen Estates Ltd. has advised that construction activities will be taking place at 17300 Island Road (see key map below).
Fourteen Estates Ltd. will be constructing sixteen (16) estate single family homes at 17300 Island Road. These works will be completed in accordance with the agreement executed with the Township of Scugog.
The builders will undertake care and concern for the adjoining neighborhood properties. It is recognized that the construction may be disruptive, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this construction. The development area under construction will be fenced off and secured. Access to the development area is strictly prohibited at all times for your safety. Construction access will be provided off Island Road.
