Durham police yesterday said five youths have been arrested after a street-level robbery in Oshawa involving a firearm.
On Friday, September 5, members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of William Lott Drive and Greenhill Avenue in Oshawa.
Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who advised he had been riding his bicycle when a group of youths approached him and began assaulting him, during the assault one of the suspects pointed a firearm toward the victim. The suspects proceeded to steal some of the victim’s belongings and fled the scene, police said.
On Wednesday, October 8, members of DRPS East Criminal Investigation Branch arrested all suspects involved.
A 12-year-old female from Oshawa is charged with: Robbery / Offensive Weapon and Possess Weapons Dangerous to Public Peace
A 13-year-old male and a 13-year-old female from Oshawa are charged with: Robbery / Offensive Weapon and Possess Weapons Dangerous to Public Peace
Two, 15-year-old males from Oshawa are charged with: Robbery / Offensive Weapon and Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
All were held for bail hearings.
