Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has finally issued a public advisory via social media asking the public to take into account delays in and around Durham College in Oshawa.
The strike began on September 11, and Durham Post brought the traffic situation to light on October 4, and since (see below).
Traffic delays of up to – and over an hour sometimes – are being caused as striking support staff at the college are briefly stopping cars.
The delays have inconvenienced both road users and students, several of whom have expressed their frustrations on social media and to Durham Post.
“TRAFFIC UPDATE OSHAWA | There are heavy traffic delays in the area of Simcoe Street North and Founders Gate due to the full-time support staff strike at Durham College. Please plan accordingly or find an alternate route,” said the brief alert from DRPS yesterday.
