Missing suspect in August home assault case caught

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has arrested a 39-year-old male who was wanted in connection with a serious assault that occurred at a Whitby residence in August.

The incident under investigation took place on Friday, August 29. Members of the Central West Division responded to a check call at a home near Annes Street and Jermyn Street.

Officers arrived to find an adult male victim suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre for treatment. Following the initial investigation, police issued a warrant for the male suspect.

The wanted male was successfully located and arrested by members of the Central West Division on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
