Durham Police yesterday said they had arrested a 12-year old with a loaded firearm. The male is facing charges after police seized the firearm in Oshawa.
On Sunday, February 11 at about 10 am members of Central East Division responded to a threatening call.
Officers investigated after a video was shown to them, in which the suspect was seen threatening to shoot the victims over Snapchat. The video contained footage of a firearm and ammunition. A 12-year-old was taken into custody without incident, police said.
They said members from Central East Division, along with members from Central West Division and the Gun and Gang Unit attended the area of Bloor Street East and Ritson Road South where a search warrant was executed and a firearm and ammunition were seized.
A 12-year-old male from Oshawa has been charged with; Uttering Threats x2, Weapons Dangerous, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence or Registration Certificate, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence, Use Firearm During Commission of an Offence, and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm
