Three 13-14-year old boys assault strangers near school

Two 14-year old boys and a 13-year old boy have been arrested and charged in connection with two separate assaults that occurred near a school in the area of Scugog Street and Longworth Avenue in Bowmanville.

On August 19, at around 1:55 pm, a victim was walking near the school in the Municipality of Clarington when they were approached by two young boys and assaulted. The incident was reported to police several days later, and investigators were able to identify two suspects.

The following day, on August 20, around 9:26 am, a second victim was assaulted by a group of youth in the same area. This incident was also reported to police several days later.

Through the investigation, officers determined that the two previously identified suspects, along with a third youth, were involved in both incidents. The victims were not known to the accused.

As a result of the investigation, all three youths were identified and arrested.

The 14-year-old boy from Clarington was held for a bail hearing. The 13-year-old male from Bowmanville and 14-year-old male from Clarington were released on an undertaking.
