The Township of Brock has issued an advisory that construction will be recommencing on the up to 220 units Beaverton Lake Homes site off Thorah Concession Road 5 and Osborne Street.
Construction will include earthworks, deep sewer services, rock breaking and pond construction. These works are being undertaken to prepare the site for a residential subdivision that has been approved for this area, said the township.
“The township recognizes that Beaverton Lake Homes development has experienced delays and periods of inactivity over many years and understand the frustration this has caused within the community,” said the advisory.
It also said the township is also guided by provincial direction to support the development of new housing, and there continues to be interest from prospective homebuyers in this subdivision.
“The township is working with the developer to move the project forward and ensure that required works are completed in accordance with approved plans and municipal requirements.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as this development moves forward,” it added.
Subdivision Plan
The subdivision plan contains 141 single-detached dwellings, 65 townhouses, and 7-14 live-work townhouse units. The subdivision plan also includes a park block, stormwater management pond, and open space/wetland blocks.
The draft plan of subdivision S-B-2025-02 was draft approved effective February 17, 2026.
It bis projected that works will be starting back up on site this month, including erosion and sediment control measures, earthworks and pre-servicing works.
The township said it is committed to minimizing disruptions and inconveniences as much as possible, but it is recognized that construction activities will be disruptive. “We respectfully request your patience and cooperation while this work is done.”
Please be aware that the nature of work involves heavy equipment and truck traffic. Please ensure that all persons are kept at a safe distance from all work areas, it added.
