14-year old charged in armed narcotics robberies

One male youth is in custody and two suspects are absconding, following an investigation into armed robberies at Oshawa pharmacies.

On Wednesday, November 8 at about 1 pm, members of Central East Division responded to an armed robbery call at the Guardian Pharmacy located at 540 King Street West in Oshawa. Two suspects entered the pharmacy brandishing a firearm, and stole narcotics. The two suspects fled in a stolen vehicle being driven by a third suspect, prior to police arrival.

A short time later, members of Central East Division responded to an armed robbery call at the Custom Care Pharmacy located at 501 Coldstream Drive in Oshawa. The same two suspects entered the pharmacy brandishing a firearm, and stole narcotics and cash. The two suspects fled the area in a stolen vehicle being driven by the third suspect, prior to police arrival.

On Wednesday, December 13, members of the Major Crime Robbery Unit, with the assistance of the Offender Management Unit (OMU) located the accused in the Toronto where he was arrested without incident, said a police statement.

A 14-year-old male has been charged and was held for a bail hearing.

The two other suspects are still absconding.
