Prescription medications valued over $15,00 were found in the vehicle of two men who were arrested for committing prescription fraud in Oshawa.
On Friday, June 19, at around 2 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a fraud call at the pharmacy inside of the Real Canadian Superstore located at 481 Gibb Street.
A man attended the pharmacy and attempted to fill a prescription with fraudulent doctor’s documents. The suspect left the area in a waiting vehicle prior to police arrival.
A short time later officers located the suspect vehicle at a second pharmacy in the area of King Street West and Stevenson Road South. Two suspects were found in the vehicle and taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle located fraudulent medication prescription documents and a large quantity of prescription medications valued at over $15,000.
The two men, a 26-year old and a 29-year old, from Montreal were held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
