Travel Alert: Road restrictions in Clarington and Uxbridge

Durham Region is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on regional roads in the Municipality of Clarington and the Township of Uxbridge.

There is a road closure on Bloor Street in the community of Courtice in the Municipality of Clarington, from June 22 to July 3.

There will be full road closure on Bloor Street, from Courtice Road to 45 metres east of Courtice Road, to safely install a sanitary sewer main in support of new development.

Upcoming lane restrictions in Uxbridge

The region has announced lane restrictions on Regional Road 8 in Uxbridge from June 29 to July 13.

Lane restrictions will be in place on Regional Road 8 at Siloam Bridge, between Concession Road 2 and Concession Road 3, to safely complete the final road surface paving and grading following the replacement of the bridge last year.

Drivers should expect delays and plan for extra time when using Siloam Bridge, said a region statement.

Work Schedules

The region said unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedules.

Businesses in the area will remain open during construction.

The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
