Train To Bowmanville: Next is a new Courtice Road bridge

The next Lakeshore East Extension project in Clarington after the start of works on upgrading the Green Road rail bridge in Bowmanville, is the construction of a new bridge on Courtice Road.

No firm timelines were provided for any of the ongoing or future (see below) Bowmanville extension projects. Passenger movement is anticipated by 2041.

Work on the Simcoe Street bridge in Oshawa is already ongoing and work crews have mobilized at the Green Road bridge location.

The GO Rail Mobile Extension Project will extend the Lakeshore East line approximately 18.7 kilometres from Oshawa to the planned Bowmanville station via Courtice and will deliver two‑way, all‑day service.

Next Bridge Construction Steps

The construction of the new Courtice Road bridge will be followed by the construction of a new Harmony Road bridge in Oshawa.

Then will come the modification of the VIA Rail pedestrian bridge at Oshawa GO station.

Last of all will come the construction of new rail tracks, according to Metrolinx.

Once the infrastructure is completed, the  project will go into the testing and commissioning phase.
