157-townhouse project for Ritson Road North

The city of Oshawa has issued a Notice of Planning Act Public Meeting regarding a residential development project East of Ritson Road North and north of Adelaide Avenue East.

The applicant, Downing Street (Ritson Road) Inc., proposes to develop the subject site for 157 stacked townhouse units.

The purpose of the applications is to:

  1. Amend the Oshawa Official Plan by redesignating the southern portion of the subject site from Industrial – Regeneration Area to Residential. The northern portion of the subject site is currently designated Residential and does not require an amendment to the Oshawa Official Plan to facilitate the proposed development.
  2. Amend Zoning By-law 60-94 by rezoning the lands from R2 (Residential) and GI (General Industrial) to an appropriate R6-B (Residential) Zone to implement the proposed development with site specific conditions to permit certain performance standards such as, but not limited to, increased lot coverage, reduced interior side yard and rear yard depths, reduced landscaped open space and reduced required parking.

The virtual Planning Act public meeting will be held on February 7 at 6:30 pm.
