17-year old charged in collision death case

Durham Police investigators have charged a 17-year-old male after a fatal collision during this summer.

On June 30 at about 11:15 pm, officers from DRPS North Division were called to a single motor vehicle collision on Webb Road, near the York-Durham Line, close to the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, police said.

An 18-year-old female passenger died as a result of the collision. Her identity is being withheld as per the discretion of the family.

A 17-year-old Stouffville male who was the driver of the vehicle, has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death, police said.

The identity of the youth will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
