Durham Police say a 19-year-old male is facing numerous drug-related charges after two search warrants were executed in Whitby.
On November 10, members of the Central West Community Response Unit arrested the suspect during a traffic stop near Thickson Road in Whitby as part of an ongoing drug investigation, said a police statement.
Investigators later executed two search warrants at two Whitby residences. The investigators seized cannabis, cannabis edibles, cash and drug paraphernalia. The estimated value of the drugs is $12,000 and approximately $9,500 in cash was seized, it added.
Jaden Patel, age 19, of Watford Street in Whitby, is charged with: Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution; Adult Possess Over 30 Grams of Cannabis in Public and Possess Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling. He was released on an Undertaking.
