446-residential project sent to Clarington staff for review

What is probably Clarington’s single largest new community project has had a public review, and is now with municipal staff for review.

A public meeting was held on February 12, to discuss the 446-residence development at 1525-1585 Bowmanville Avenue in Bowmanville.

The Municipality of Clarington has received public input on the proposal for a residential development in Bowmanville, said a notice.

The development would include two apartment buildings and a block of townhomes within walking distance of the future Bowmanville GO Station.

“The proposal was referred to staff for review and consideration,” the notice added.

The subject lands are located along the elevated east side of Bowmanville Avenue over a total area of 1.39 hectares and frontage of some 121 metres.

Staff review and recommendation to council is a key step in the approval process, especially if the project requires bylaws on height, designation, size and density etc. are required to be amended.
