Outdoor ice rinks close for the season due to warm weather

The City of Oshawa has announced that due to unseasonably warm weather, the natural outdoor ice rinks at Delpark Homes Centre and Stone Street Park will remain closed for the remainder of the winter season.

It urged residents to visit Oshawa.ca/Skate for information on available indoor skating activities.

This winter has been mild and that has impacted seasonal earnings of winter-related businesses such as ski resorts. A visit to Brimacombe or Dagmar Ski resort shows bare hills, more suitable for ATVs than sleds.

Dangerous ice formation on lakes has impacted ice fishing and ski sledding.
