58-year old missing Oshawa man found dead

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said a missing 58-year-old Oshawa man, last seen on Monday, January 11, 2021, has been located deceased.

“No foul play is suspected,” said a brief police statement.

Day before, DRPS said a body had been found in Lake Ontario. It said a call reporting the find of human remains at Oshawa lakefront came in at 10:35 am.

Officers from DRPS Central East Division were dispatched to the scene. DRPS said the “investigation ongoing but does not appear to be suspicious at this time”.

Apparently, the body has been identified as a police tweet said “next of kin to be notified and post-mortem to be completed”.

The police earlier said the missing man had left with a black mountain bike and wasn’t carrying a cellphone.
