71-year-old male loses car, licence for stunt driving

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said yesterday morning, a 71-year-old male from Scugog had to part ways with his vehicle for 14 days and his licence for 30 days after being charged with stunt driving in Oshawa.

“He was driving more than double the posted speed limit! Please slow down!”

A traffic services officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Columbus Road and Wilson Road North in Oshawa, when a traffic stop was initiated.

The officer had clocked a pick-up truck passing another vehicle, going at 104 kmh in a 50 kmh zone.

A school bus was in the area just minutes before, the police said.

The Scugog resident is facing several charges including, speeding, stunt driving and careless driving.
