Driver escapes on foot after swiping van with stolen car

Durham Police are looking for witnesses after a suspect fled following a collision involving a stolen vehicle in Uxbridge Tuesday night.

On March 1 at about 7 pm, members of North Division responded to a fail to remain collision in the area of Elgin Park Drive and Fred Barnard Way that involved two vehicles, said a police media release.

The victim was operating a blue Honda van eastbound on Elgin Park Drive when he was side swiped by a westbound grey Toyota Camry. The driver of the Toyota which was stolen from Toronto, fled on foot.

There were no injuries sustained by the driver of the Honda van.

Police searched the area for the suspect with negative results.
