At around 9 pm, the K9 patrol tweeted that they were responding with frontline officers of the DRPS Central East Division to a disturbance call at a residence on Whiting Avenue in Oshawa. “Lots of screaming and shouting.”

Bayly Street eastbound lanes were closed from Liverpool Road to Pickering Beach Roadway for the serious pedestrian collision involving a male in his 60’s.
Heading to assist a DRPS West Division officer at an unwanted person call near Westney Road and Bayly Street in Pickering, said another tweet.
Earlier, they received a property damage call from Oshawa where a male smashed a store front window with a coconut water bottle.
Officers responded to Park Road and Colborne Street for an armed person. Shirtless male with an axe chopping at a tree. Numerous callers, said a DRPS tweet adding DRPS CE Division
members have the male in custody we will be clearing.
Another said the units was assisting EMS for a call to assist them with a patient who may become combative with them. She needs to go to the hospital to get medical help.
Yet another said a man was asked to leave after allegedly smoking inside the store and he refused to leave. He was not allowed to enter without a mask. “We provided him a complimentary mask and helped him to get a taxi lift home,” said the unit.
Asked by a resident if weather was a deterrent to the dogs’ tracking abilities, the officers said: “Good question – any extreme weather cold, rain and heat, snow can make tracking conditions more difficult. So if any suspects decide to hide in a body of water tonight, our dogs will track you.”

The K9 Unit also had to deal with a hit-and-run incident in which damage to the victim’s vehicle was “pretty substantial.” The red suspect vehicle that fled can’t be too far with the damage it sustained to the front end. We are checking the area, said the patrol. One female suffered some leg injuries. The incident occurred at Townline Road South and Regional Highway 2.
We cleared another call for an unknown 911 call at a pizza store across from Pickering Town Center. It was unfounded. Now clearing and going to a restaurant at Brock Rd and Kingston Rd for an unwanted male. Arrived at the bar west of Liverpool and Kingston Rd . Unruly patrons left without incident. Clearing out the unwanted persons, said the K9 Unit.
Another said found an insecure door. We will be checking the premise thoroughly. We found everything in order. No signs of forced entry. We locked it up.
Another incident reported by the K9 patrol was finding a GMC Terrain that went into a ditch. Elderly driver was not injured. This was near Simcoe Street and River Street in Scugog. Roads are wet and slippery. Drive safely. Tow truck will be needed to pull him out, said their tweet.
