Audley vaccine clinic hours extended, new one opens in Clarington

The Health Department is extending clinic hours at Audley Recreation Centre clinic site in Ajax and opening an additional community immunization clinic at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, Clarington.

Durham Region Health Department is encouraging everyone who has not yet received a first or second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to join in the “last mile” push to get vaccinated, according to a statement.

Starting Monday, November 1, hours at area community immunization clinics will be expanded to help accommodate more walk-in opportunities and appointment bookings. To book an appointment at either clinic, visit www.durham.ca/vaccineappointment or call the appointment booking line at 1-888-444-5113. Extended hours for these community vaccination clinics are as follows:

Audley Recreation Centre, Ajax

  • Nov. 1 – 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 2 to 5 – 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 6 – 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, Clarington

  • Nov. 1 – 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 2 to 5 – 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“Area residents have done a tremendous job in helping us to reach almost 83 per cent of individuals 12-plus who are now fully vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine,” said Dr. Robert Kyle, Durham Region Medical Officer of Health. “With just a little more work, we’ll be able to push through the last mile to see over 90 per cent of our population fully vaccinated and be well on our way to containing community spread of Covid-19.”

In addition to these clinics in Ajax and Clarington, walk-in opportunities and appointment bookings continue to be available at the Ontario Tech Campus Ice Centre clinic in Oshawa.
