The Clarington Planning and Development Committee will review three development proposals at its meeting on Monday, March 17, beginning at 6:30 pm.
Bowmanville: Blackthorn Development Corp. has submitted applications on behalf of 1377019 Ontario Inc. and Bowmanville Estates Inc. & MNR Investments Inc. for a Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision at the former Abe’s Auto Wrecking Yard site and adjacent properties on Concession Road 3 in Bowmanville.
According to the application, the development includes 119 residential lots and part lots, consisting of:
- 82 single-detached homes
- 2 semi-detached homes
- 35 street townhouses
- A partial medium density block, to be merged with lands to the east.
The proposal also includes the extension of various roads to complete the Northglen Neighbourhood, as well as a park block. The site area is 18.68 acres (7.56 hectares).

Hampton: Fourteen Estates has submitted applications on behalf of Honey Harbour Heights Estates Ltd. for a Zoning By-law Amendment at 72 Ormiston Street in Hampton.
The municipality said the proposal fits within Clarington’s Official Plan requirements for this area and includes plans to develop one single detached dwelling by facilitating the creation of a new lot.
The total site area is 1.16 acres (0.472 hectares) in size.
Newtonville: Planfarm Inc. has submitted applications on behalf of WDD International Inc. for a Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision at Regional Road 18 north of Church Lane in Newtonville.
The proposal includes plans for 19 detached homes and a stormwater management pond, accessed by public roads. The total site area is 14 acres (5.6 hectares).
