Drunk woman goes on a joy ride in a stolen security vehicle

A woman is facing charges after stealing a marked security vehicle and attempting to flee police while impaired in Whitby.

On Monday, February 24, at about 1:40 am, members from Central West Division said they responded to a stolen vehicle in progress call at 625 Victoria Street East. According to reports, an unidentified woman had stolen a marked security vehicle and fled the scene.

Officers quickly located the vehicle nearby and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however she refused to comply. As the vehicle slowed for a red light, officers successfully boxed it in and arrested the woman without incident. Upon removing her from the vehicle, officers determined she was also impaired by alcohol, reported police.

A 40-year-old woman from Quebec, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
