The Ontario government is investing $133,400 in critical upgrades and repairs to four children’s and social services facilities.
In the Region of Durham, the following agencies are receiving funding:
• The Deaf/Blind Ontario Services will replace accessible ramps and decks.
• The Community Living Oshawa/Clarington will replace three PTA units.
• Murray McKinnon Foundation will replace unsafe exterior stairs.
• The Oshawa Young Women’s Christian Association will assist with Mould Remediation.
Funding through the Partner Facility Renewal program is provided to agencies, such as shelters for women and children, homes that provide daily support for people with developmental disabilities, facilities for survivors of human trafficking, and facilities for children and youth with special needs.
“Local agencies are at the core of every strong community. That’s why our government is proud to invest in the Region of Durham,” said Todd McCarthy, MPP for Durham. “By funding these repairs and upgrades, we are helping ensure that the vulnerable Ontarians can access high-quality services and supports in safe and accessible spaces.
