Police searching for high school stabbing suspects

Durham police yesterday said two high-school students are recovering after being stabbed off school property during their lunch break in Oshawa.

On Thursday, November 20 at about 12:30 pm, members from East Division responded to a stabbing in the area of Coldstream Drive and Harmony Road North.

Officers arrived on scene and located two students from Maxwell Heights Secondary School that had been stabbed. Both were taken to Toronto-area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

There will be a police presence at the school tomorrow to support staff and students.

Both victims, ages 14 and 16 were off school property at the time of the incident. The school was put in a hold and secure for about 45 minutes while officers searched for the suspects.

Police are continuing their search for two suspects.

The first suspect is described as male, Black with a light complexion, 15-16 years old. He was wearing a black track suit.

The second suspect is described as male, Black with a dark complexion,15-16 years old. He was wearing a dark coloured track suit.

Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance and are seeking any photographs, video, or details that may support the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact D/Cst. Anderson of the Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1605.
