The City of Pickering has received applications, that if approved, would green light a project of four towers with heights ranging from 31 to 34 storeys.
The mixed-use project would have 1,356 residential units, 2,912 square metres of commercial space and 0.18 hectares of public park space.
The applicants are 375 Kingston Road Corporation and 401 Kingston Road Corporation. The proposed development is located at 375, 395, 401, 409, 413, 417 Kingston Road and 4 Evelyn Avenue in Pickering Ward 1, according to the city.
It said on November 18, the City Development Department received new development applications from 375 Kingston Road Corporation and 401 Kingston Road Corporation for an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment for the subject lands.
“The development proposal is for a multi-phase, high-density, mixed-use development consisting of two mixed-use buildings with four residential towers, having heights of 31, 32, 33 and 34 storeys, containing a total of 1,356 residential units, 2,912 square metres of grade related commercial space and 0.18 hectares of public park space,” the city said.
Dual Phase Project
It said Phase 1 will be developed on the eastern portion of the subject lands and includes the properties 395, 401, 409, 413, 417 Kingston Road and 4 Evelyn Avenue.
Phase 2 will be developed at the southeast corner of Rougement Drive and Kingston Road on the property, municipally known as 375 Kingston Road, which contains the Rougemount Square Plaza. The plaza will remain in operation until Phase 1 is completed, allowing existing tenants within 375 Kingston Road to have the option to relocate into Phase 1. Subsequently, the Rougemount Square plaza will be demolished as part of Phase 2.
On November 20, the city received a formal request to withdraw the former 2022 applications for 375 Kingston Road (City Files: OPA 22-001/P and A 02/22).
