Durham police yesterday said two males are facing numerous charges after a kidnapping and extortion investigation in Ajax.
On October 25, the victim, who provides transportation services, was contacted to take two individuals from Ajax to Montreal.
The victim was scheduled to meet with two males at a prearranged location. Upon arrival three males forced the victim into another vehicle while making threats with a firearm.
The victim was driven to an ATM where he was forced to withdraw cash for the suspects. The victim was later released by the suspects.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.
On Saturday, February 14 members of the West Crime Team, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, executed search warrants at three residences in Toronto. Two of the three suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.
