Air1, K9 unit help find discharged road rage firearm

A 23-year-old male has been arrested after fleeing from a collision and discharging a firearm in Pickering.

On Thursday, March 9, at about 10:50 pm, members of West Division responded to a call for an armed person after a male was seen fleeing from a collision while brandishing a firearm.

The suspect was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Brock Road and Palmers Sawmill Road, with one other vehicle. The suspect quickly fled the area on foot and then witnesses heard a gunshot. Police located the suspect and took him into custody, said a statement.

With the assistance of Air1 and K9, a loaded firearm with expended casing was located in the area.

Minor injuries were suffered by both drivers involved in the collision.

The man, age 23, of Toronto was charged and held for a bail hearing.
