Assault over refusal to give thief money and cigarettes

Durham police are looking for a suspect after a commercial robbery in Oshawa.

On Monday, December 15 at around 11:40 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a robbery call at a gas station located at 800 Taunton Road West.

A suspect entered the gas station demanding money and cigarettes. When the employee refused, the suspect assaulted the employee. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The suspect fled the store prior to police arrival.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or witnesses to contact the investigators.
