Attempt to steal Range Rover with garage opener from previous Lexus theft

Durham Police are looking for three males after they broke into a residential garage and attempted to steal a vehicle in Whitby.

On Tuesday, September 17, at about 6:05 am, members of Central West Division responded to a break-and-enter at a residence in the area of Closson Drive and Des Newman Boulevard.

At about 3:40 am, three males accessed the home’s garage using a garage door opener that had been left in a Lexus sedan that they previously stole from the residence. The suspects attempted to steal a Range Rover SUV that was parked in the garage but could not gain access to the vehicle. The suspects also attempted to enter the residence but were unsuccessful. The suspects were seen fleeing the area in a white Lexus sedan.

The first suspect is described as: male, White, approximately 5’10”, with a slim build. He was wearing a black face mask, dark coloured sweater blue pajama pants, and black shoes.

The second suspect is described as: male, White, approximately 5’10”, with a slim build. He was wearing a dark green hoodie, dark green track pants, and black shoes.

The third suspect is described as: male White, approximately 5’10” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a blue mask, white hoodie, blue jeans, and lack shoes.
