The first annual Community Walk to End Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is being held this Saturday, September 21 at 10 am at Durham Region Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby, Ontario.
The event aims to raise awareness, funds, and support for survivors of intimate partner violence in the community.
This important initiative is designed to bring together community members, organizations, and supporters in a united effort to combat IPV. There is still time for participants to create teams and raise funds. But if you can’t make it, you can still donate! loom.ly/o9xpXW8.
The walk is being organized by Bethesda House, The Denise House, Herizon House, YWCA Durham, Safety Network Durham, Luke’s Place, Victim Services of Durham, WMRCC of Durham, and the Region of Durham.
“We believe that by coming together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against IPV,” said the community walk coalition. “This walk is not just about raising funds, but also about showing solidarity with survivors and raising awareness about the resources available in the region. We encourage everyone to get involved by forming teams, raising funds, donating, or spreading awareness. Every contribution, big or small, is crucial in advancing our mission toward safer communities.”
