Autopsy ordered for double murder in Bowmanville

Durham Police Homicide Unit has now taken over investigation into the double murder during the weekend in Bowmanville.

They are asking for anyone with information or video footage, including dashcam and home surveillance, to contact police.

The coroner has attended the scene and has ordered an autopsy.

This is Durham Region’s third homicide investigation of 2023.

On Saturday, February 4 at about 2:15 pm, members of East Division responded to an address on Crombie Street after receiving a call to check on the well-being of the occupants of the home.

Police arrived on scene and located two deceased adults suffering from obvious signs of trauma. Members from Forensic Investigative Services were called to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation, said a police statement.

The two deceased are the third and fourth victims of homicide in Durham Region in 2023.
