New pedestrian crossover at Waverley Road and Quinn Drive.

Four new pedestrian crossovers come to Bowmanville

Clarington has recently installed new signalized pedestrian crossovers at four locations in Bowmanville.

The municipality said these are located at:

  • The intersection of Mearns Avenue and Soper Creek Drive
  • The intersection of Waverley Road and Quinn Drive
  • The intersection of Simpson Avenue and Jane Street
  • On Honeyman Drive, west of Darryl Caswell Way

The crossovers will allow people to cross the road safely without jaywalking or having to walk long distances to the next nearest intersection, said a statement.

The signage, pavement markings and flashing beacons give drivers additional signals to look out for pedestrians, creating safer and more walkable neighbourhoods, it added.
