Bauer from Durham chosen from 30,000+ for Pet Valu calendar

Bauer, a loving Beagle from Uxbrige who enjoys walks, spending time at the baseball diamond and sucking on ice, has been chosen from more than 30,000 entries as the July star for Pet Valu’s 2022 fundraising calendar to support pets and pet parents in need.

The annual calendar, which contains photos of 19 Canadian pets taken by their pet parents, including dogs, cats, a hamster, a rabbit, a hedgehog, a guinea pig and a bird, is available in all Pet Valu stores across Canada for a give-what-you-can donation.

One hundred per cent of the donations go to Pet Valu’s Companions for Change initiative to support Canadian animal rescues and charities.

Since 2010, Pet Valu’s charitable initiatives have raised more than $20 million for Canadian animal organizations and has found the right forever homes for more than 38,000 homeless pets, said a statement.
