Schools Lockdown: Fourth Ajax murder suspect arrested

Durham Police homicide investigators have made a fourth arrest after a fatal shooting in Ajax which claimed the life of a 33-year-old Ajax male.

On Thursday, November 11, at approximately 4:25 am, members of West Division were called to a residence on Pembry Drive in Ajax for an armed person call. A 33-year-old male was located with gunshot wounds. The male was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre but was later pronounced deceased, police said.

Three suspects have been arrested, including one during a standoff in Oshawa which forced a lockdown in nearby schools [see below].

On Monday, November 22, 2021, investigators made an arrest of a 28-year-old male suspect in Toronto and he is facing numerous charges.

Alexander Mahon-Fernandes, age 28, of East York, is charged with: Accessory after the fact to Murder; Robbery and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
