Free workshop on EI, pensions, OAS programs and more

Durham Region is hosting a free virtual workshop for older adults looking to learn more about available federal government programs available.

The workshop will explain about how to navigate Service Canada and Canada Revenue Agency’s websites, programs and services.

Topics of discussion will include employment insurance, Social Insurance Numbers (SIN), Canada Pension Plan (CPP) retirement and disability benefits, the Old Age Security (OAS) program, fraud awareness and protection, common tax credits as well as Covid-19 measures.

This presentation will include an overview of available benefits and eligibility requirements, instructions on how to apply, and a demonstration of how to navigate the Canada.ca website.

When: Monday, November 30 from 11 a.m. to noon.

This event is part of the Seniors’ Virtual Learning Series, presented by Durham Region in partnership with various community partners. This programming is funded through an Ontario Inclusive Community Grant.
